Protection is the program
When women walk the streets so mean
But like the song says:
"Nobody knows the troubles they have seen"
When they get home where there hearts should reside
A chamber of horror is waiting inside
Terror was adopted by the family members
"She had an order of protection" a neigbor remembers
A thing piece of paper between her and death
Their children looked on as he stole here last breath
How many mothers were murdered today?
Hove many fathers had justice to pay?
How can this happen? It doesn't make sense?
Can you tell me where the hell is the white picket fence?
Can you tell me where it says in the marriage vow
"until death" he chooses where, he chooses when and how?
This battle of the sexes is a mad massacre
All women want is happy ever after
How many women were just blown away?
Hove many husbands paid lawyers to say
"They were once happy, it's dollars and cents"
Can you tell me why they're not nailed to the white picket fence?
It's the same old story going round and round
The same old system always breaking down
Same old jealousy, same old lie
Same red blood when someone dies
How many, how many, how many, how many
How can this happen? It doesn't make sense?
Can you tell me where the hell is the white picket fence?
