Everyone says the old ways are dead
And love has a brand new hairdo
Can you be sure that motives are pure
Believe what they say if you care to

You say you've got somethin' well I don't care
I put my money on the Red Queen
When the pages turn, she'll still be there
I put my money on the Red Queen
I leave the shadows where they belong
I take up the spaces that nobody wants
I don't care if you think I'm wrong
I put my money on the Red Queen

Maybe time's a little bit hard
And the color of love is money
Well in the time you could deal the next card
Fortunes have been made in plenty
When the kings and dead presidents
Won't fill up that space deep inside you
And the hole will get bigger and much more intense
Till you find out how much you've been lied to

You say you know somethin' but I don't care
I put my money on the Red Queen
When the table turns, she'll still be there
I put my money on the Red Queen
I leave the broken pieces where they fall
I pull on my boots and walk down the hole that
Lets in the light that's in our soul
I put my money on the Red Queen

I put it down and I'll raise you to it
And in a gamble, I'll leave that to you

You say you know somethin' well I don't care
I put my money on the Red Queen
When the table turns, you'll still be there
I put my money on the Red Queen
I leave the broken pieces where they fall
I pull on my boots and I walk down the hole that
Lets in the light that's in our soul
I put my money on the Red Queen

I put my money on the Red Queen
