She was seen Sunday morning
Drinking coffee in a small cafe
she got lucky he stopped calling
maybe this time she'd get away

Every car every stranger
every telephone and every ring
nervous tapping on the table
a 1000 spiders crawling on her skin
His face is always a deadman's stare
Now she thinks she sees him everywhere

Maybe roses never die
Maybe they just have a place to go
Where nothing ever bleeds them dry

Rows of houses on the shoreline
No one knows the secret hide-away
Twist the key twist the doorknob
Someone's waiting with a dead bouquet

No one hears a sound and no one tells
The story tells the picture very well

Maybe roses never die...
