Frank Carillo is one of those people who you think you have never heard of, much less heard play. However, if you have heard Peter Frampton's Wind of Change or Frampton's Camel albums, or Joan Jett's Play That Song Again, or heard the soundtrack to Prelude to a Kiss (he did the song Waiting for Someone), you most certainly have. He is that musician's musician who keeps himself in the background most of the time, just every now and again stepping up to take the limelight, and when he does it is usually worth the time to listen up. He is one of those people who writes most of his music. He wrote all of the tunes on this disc (one with Barbara Bixby Carillo), plays the guitar and sings; to borrow a term from baseball, he is that proverbial triple threat. His first disc with this group, Bad Out There, was well received and spent a good amount of time on some of the Roots Rock charts, and one song, Red Queen, was a standout on the Country Charts, showing his versatility.

On this disc, he is teamed with his brother Andrew on guitar, Eddie Seville on drums and backing vocals, Karl Allweier on upright bass and backing vocals, Norman DelTufo on percussion and backing vocals, and on four cuts his buddy from his days of playing with John Hammond, Augie Meyers, on piano and Hammond organ. The songs are good and interesting, the playing tight and first rate, and the production is excellent; with Paul Orofino at the controls, there is not a weak link and this disc reflects all those positives.
